Edwina Benner Plaza was one of four pilots demonstrating low-carbon heat pump hot water solutions for housing, funded by the California Energy Commission in 2018. The project was our first all-electric affordable housing project. Although DBA was not a recipient of the grant, the technical oversight, detailed data collection and lessons learned that were supported by the grant have had tremendous value to our practice and our industry overall.
